Metro Youth Day in Detroit

For 32 years, the city of Detroit has been celebrating Metro Youth Day –an event that attracts kids ages 8-15 for a day filled with sports, activities, and fun. This year, the event took place on July 9th and featured tons of volunteers who teamed up with local organizations to help support the event and even gave out scholarships for high school graduates. The event also offered games, contests, prizes and all day entertainment like live music, a dance party and a free lunch! This event is great for the city of Detroit, bringing in 34,000 last year compared to the 1,100 participants it brought its first year!
